How do you achieve 300 feet/100 meters of wireless range when most other Bluetooth headsets only offer 30 feet/10 meters?
To understand Bluetooth range, it is important to consider the two main Bluetooth power classes for audio devices, including BlueParrott headsets and smartphones:
* Range information is a general guideline. M300-XT is a Class 1 headset but must be paired to a Class 1 smartphone to achieve the longer range; if not, the range will be limited to the potential range of the least powerful device. For example, a Class 1 device paired with a Class 2 device would normally result in Class 2 wireless range.
Due to the effect on battery consumption, the vast majority of smartphones use Bluetooth Class 2. This means that you can expect Class 2 wireless range, even if the connected BlueParrott Bluetooth audio device is advertised as supporting Class 1.
In addition, the potential range is further reduced by obstacles and electromagnetic interference (EMI). When indoors, other electronic devices, walls, and furniture may also reduce the signal. Outdoor use, without obstacles and EMI, usually results in greater wireless range. However, leaving your smartphone inside your vehicle and walking away from it (for example, leaving a truck cab and walking behind the trailer) could result in a loss of audio. If you take your smartphone with you, the Bluetooth audio device you are using will always remain within range.
The M300-XT headset works with the BlueParrott Charging Stand, 5-Bay. If you’re considering purchasing more than one M300-XT headset for your team, the stand will ensure they’re always organized, charged, updated, and ready, in one easy-to-find location.
Seamless shift starts, even in the busiest environments.
